Extremely popular, Argentinian Malbec is an inky, medium-bodied, dry red wine with strong impressions of dark fruits on the nose and palate. This wine tends to have mellower tannins than its French counterpart.
Heavily dependent on where they are grown for variations in flavor, Argentinian Malbec has quickly become a world favorite due to the characteristics that the high altitude climate and soils impart to the fruit.
Originally from France, it is one of the original 5 “Bordeaux” grapes. It is scarcely planted in France anymore.
It has found an amazingly hospitable home in the mountains of Argentina from which some of the world’s best selling Malbecs are grown.
Starkly different from French versions in structure and flavor, this wine is a good investment for collectors, as the wine can age for several years before drinking.This wine also pairs very well with any savory red meat dish– particularly dishes that include spice.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2008 Amon-Ra opens with profound aromas of black berry compote, baking spices, smoked bacon with a whiff of anise and some fertile loam. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated with very full and rich warm berry flavors lifted by very lively acid. The tannins are medium to firm and velvety on the long finish.

Bright cherry red with a garnet rim. A refined nose with predominant notes of red and stone fruits: strawberry, raspberry and peach. Patisserie and cream encased in elegant notes of vanilla, caramel and a subtle hint of cinnamon. It is flavourful and expressive on the palate. It is immediately inviting, enveloping the palate and leaving a long and pleasant aftertaste.

It has a generous nose of red cherries, overripe oranges and Indian ink that is attractive, if not overly complex. The palate is rounded and slightly leathery on the entry. It constitutes a sedate, mellow Reserva that has a classical personality. Balance and refinement on the offdry finish.

Intense ruby ​​red colour. Aromas of ripe berries, blackberry jam and notes of tobacco and leather. On the palate it is broad, soft, persistent with a finish of fruit notes in alcohol. Pair with red meats in general, game, dishes based on wild boar, aged pecorino cheese.

L’Apparita is the first wine 100% Merlot produced in Tuscany. It is a cult wine since its first release 1985. The small parcels forming our single vineyard L’Apparita extend on an area of 3.84 hectares and they are located on top of Bellavista Vineyard. Vines were firstly planted in 1975 with Canaiolo and Malvasia Bianca. They have been replanted between 1982 and 1985 with Merlot, using the clone nr 342. The training system at Open Lyre and the soil particularly rich with clay make this small Cru a jewel of the international wine production.

The most commonly consumed wine in Italy, and interestingly, the most commonly consumed Italian wine in the world, Chianti is emblematic of what Italy means to the world of wine.
Fermented primarily from Sangiovese, fresh cherry, strawberries, and red plum pleasure the senses when enjoying this wine.
Winemakers have spent the last couple of decades trying to change the old image of Chianti: Wine bottles in wicker basket, interestingly also called fiascoes. They’ve done so by by producing very nice wines through state of the art growing and fermentation techniques.
Chianti is a red wine that comes from Tuscany, but can contain small amounts of white grapes during blending. This is not the case with Chianti Classico, which must be solely made from red Sangiovese grapes.
Chianti is not considered to age well, and loses steam quickly. Find the youngest bottle you can to get the most out of its vibrance.

San Lorenzo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione of Castello di Ama rubbing the denomination Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione, ie the non plus ultra in terms of quality and origin in the Chianti Classico, is the flagship product of this winery. The grapes are produced entirely in the San Lorenzo area, within the company. It is precisely the origin of the grapes that gives the name to this Chianti. They are the oldest vines of the company which, having at least ten years of age, with a perfect phenolic maturity guarantee exceptional organoleptic characteristics. With a careful assembly of Sangiovese, the prince of Chianti and Malvasia Nera and Merlot grapes elegant and intense aromas of ripe red fruit are obtained. The full and soft taste is obtained with a refinement in wood, 20% in barriques of first passage and the rest in used barriques. The San Lorenzo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG of Castello di Ama still maintains a good freshness that makes it a refined and elegant wine, suitable not only for the traditional Tuscan gastronomic dishes.

The Catena Cabernet Sauvignon shows a dark ruby color with violet tones. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of ripe raspberries and cassis with notes of pepper, clove, and a touch of cedar. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rich and displays layers of black currant and black raspberry with notes of cedar and oregano. This Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant wine with silky tannins that provide structure and a long and persistent finish.

Pair this Cabernet with red meats like steak or lamb, demi-glace sauces, or with Steak Frites for a simple bistro-style meal.

Tasting Notes
Catena Malbec shows a deep violet color with purple reflections. The nose offers concentrated aromas of ripe red and dark fruits with delicate floral notes like violets and lavander, and traces of vanilla and moca. The mouthfeel is rich and concentrated, with blueberries and blackberries notes and a touch of leather and cinamon. The finish presents well integrated-tannins with bright acidity and a flinty minerality that gives the wine exceptional length.

Deep ruby coloured, the nose is quite rich and intense, with dark red berries and spice. The palate is medium to full bodied, with deep raspberry, plum and black cherry flavours, backed by some spice and smoke flavours. The tannins are ripe and fine.

A very attractive bouquet with crisp blackberry, sous-bois and graphite aromas that are very controlled. The palate is medium-bodied with taut tannins and again, crisp acidity. Firm tannins and a long finish.

Echo de Lynch-Bages has a brilliant colour and displays lovely purplish-blue garnet hues. Attractive
savoury aromas on the nose, transpose into a rich and elegant palate of fresh red fruits (redcurrant and
raspberry). Fine tannins combine with refreshing acidity to provide a very nice long finish.

A palate full of rich black and red fruits – plums and damsons dominate with pomegranate, baked cherries and Christmas spices. An intensely concentrated powerful vintage with fine smooth tannins and a spicy, warming finish.

This wine pairs well with grilled pork tenderloin, lamb and veal with fresh herbs.

Deep crimson colour, a lovely black fruits nose with liquorice, mint and black olives. A good concentration of black cherry and blackberry fruit on the palate balanced with fresh acidity, soft tannins and a long after-taste of morello cherries and clove.

Crafted from both mountain and valley floor grapes, this beautifully rich and complex wine offers alluring aromas of huckleberry, cardamom, graham cracker, dark chocolate and violets. On the palate, juicy flavors of ripe boysenberry and black tea glide across finely textured tannins, with bright, balanced acidity contributing to a long, elegant finish.

El Enemigo is produced in the foothills of the Andes Mountains at Piedemonte al Sur, of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. Winemaker, Alejandro Vigil, is also the Chief Winemaker at Bodega Catena Zapata and the former head of the soil division at Argentina’s Wine Institute.

The El Enemigo Malbec is rich and concentrated with aromas of black fruit and cherries. The palate is full, spicy, fruity and floral. The finish is long and elegant.

Wine Spectator – “Aromas and flavors of violet, black currant, raspberry and spice gain intensity as this red builds to its lengthy conclusion. Vibrant and harmonious, this needs some time to shed its well-proportioned tannins. Sangiovese. Best from 2017 through 2030.”

The Coppola Claret makes for an interesting palate experience. Cherries, violet candy, roasted oak, and cassis are the most prominent flavors in this wine. It leaves a lush, round mouthfeel. You’ll find a little plummy and a little oaky in the middle of the tongue. A fruit-forward wine that is moderately high in tannins makes the Coppola Claret a tasty wine. It has a hint of dark chocolate flavor to it. It is notably rich and luscious, and clean.

The Francis Coppola Claret is best paired with beef, lamb, game (deer/venison), and poultry. A great food pairing with this wine would be roast chicken or gourmet stuffed hamburgers. It also stands out very well in a red wine sauce with braised beef.

An expressive wine with aromas of red cherry, plum, dry spice and earthy mushroom notes. The vibrant fruit driven palate shows concentrated red fruit with savoury flavours and well rounded yet firm tannins with great length. The palate will develop greater richness and complexity with time in the bottle.

This limited edition organic Pinot Noir is from the Southern Valleys, from high-density, certified organic vineyards. Every attention is lavished upon our organic vines which are hand tended, picked and sorted. This is a Pinot Noir with delicious intensity, which is realised when you take a sip with a smooth, silky texture delivering ripe cherry and wild berry flavours which finish long and elegant thanks to its perfect balance.

Winemaking is spread between the Catena family winery in the Uco Valley and Alejandro’s own barrel room in his garden of Chachingo – The Republic – where his young son rides a horse among olive trees and where dogs and chickens share the grounds with the Vigil family and the winery.

El Gran Enemigo SV Gualtallary shows a deep purple color with red highlights. Its aromas are intense and elegant. Cabernet Franc brings sweet spices, black pepper and light notes of eucalyptus and thyme. Malbec brings notes of ripe black fruits, blackberries and black cherries. The oak aging gives a touch of chocolate and vanilla to blend. The taste is complex, sweet impact with structured tannins, and a very long and persistent finish. This wine was made in honor of the old Pomerol style where Cabernet Franc was blended with the other Bordeaux varieties.

This wine is excellent with grilled meats and various cheeses.

Made only from the finest Sangiovese grapes carefully selected from the estate Chianti Classico vineyards, this Reserva represents the perfect blend of the traditional and the modern. It spends some 24 months in oak, with about 20% in small barriques, and one year in the bottle. The front label bears Titian’s famous portrait of a medieval knight in armour.

The Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, rich wine bursting with dark fruit. This is a fairly immediate style, some serious tannins notwithstanding. Smoke, tobacco and licorice develop in the glass, adding complexity and nuance. The powerful, fruit-driven finish is totally rewarding, but this will be even better in a few years’ time.”

While it is true that the vines are young, the stock available today is of much better quality than previously. This makes for more “efficient” vine plants which are able to yield fruit more rapidly. This is why today more than ever, La Dame d’Angludet offers the best quality for price in the entire Margaux appellation, offering dazzling aromatic expression and gentle extract, which is sustained yet delicate. Thus renamed, it is a sincere tribute to the women who have contributed directly or indirectly to the history of our property dating from the 12th century. The strict selection in vineyard & from cask ensures the finished wine shares the same finesse, complexity & elegance of a fine Margaux. Supple dark fruits, liquorice & spice notes are held by assertive but ripe tannins that ensure Reserve d’Angludet can be enjoyed when young but will also allow further maturation. A good match for fine cuts of beef, roast lamb, wild mushrooms, game including venison, boar & rabbit & well flavoured strong cheeses.

Intense aromas of red rose petals and red berry fruits fill the nose, while violet, berry and mocha flavours follow on the palate, with a hint of blueberry. As these flavours evolve, a hint of chocolate appear on the finish.

“A marvellous summer and a cool, sunny September made it possible to achieve perfect maturation of the grapes despite the difficult flowering period, with wines that express a particularly elegant side. Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia 2013 has an intense, bright colour. The nose is vibrant and fruity underscored by delicate toasty notes. On the palate, the smooth, silky texture contrasts with tannins of great freshness. Whilst its structure will enable it to mellow with age, the crispness of the fruit and its soft, fine character make it perfect to enjoy straight away.”

The 2014 vintage was the most challenging in memory, but has nevertheless enabled us to produce high quality wines that give immense pleasure. The late ripening of the grapes have made it possible to express the crispness and freshness of the fruit to best effect. What is striking is the high quality of the tannins on the palate: silky, refined and without any sharp edges, albeit with a lower density than in hotter vintages. Le Volte dell’Ornellaia is a balanced, harmonious and very drinkable wine thanks in particular to the beautiful Merlots of 2014.

This is a great example of Mendoza Malbec. Incredible deep purple red color. Loads of spice and black and red cherry aromas with notes of chocolate. The berry flavors really pop on the palate as the wine has both a full mid palate and lively acidity that leads to an incredibly long finish. A bottom note of freshly brewed espresso keeps the mouth watering too. This one is a teenager at the moment, and should age very well (and not talk back when you don’t give it the car keys!).

Pairs well with foods such as venison or wild game, steak, pork, quail, all types of lamb, and medium strong cheeses. A very flexible wine due to its concentration and balance.

A harmonious red, offering an expression of cherry, blackberry and floral aromas and flavors offset by a vibrant, well-integrated structure. Shows iron, tobacco, smoke and a hint of wild herbs, which weigh in as this evolves on the palate toward a lingering aftertaste. Delivers finesse and energy. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The nose is dominated by intense notes of ripe red berry fruit and complementary aromas of sweet spices and coffee. Ample and balanced on the palate, the wine shows silky tannins along with a sweet and spicy finish and aftertaste.

Cont’Ugo offers an intense ruby red color. The nose is imbued by notes of such ripe red fruit as raspberries and cherries along with sensations of sweet spices. On the palate, the firm tannic texture, silky and flowing, is well supported by a pleasurable freshness. Cont’Ugo is a balanced wine with a pleasurable persistence and length and much drinking pleasure.

A deep ruby red in color, the wine was also endowed with expressive varietal aromas and sweet notes of red berry fruit and spices. The long, cool growing season was perceptible in the full ripeness of flavor, the ample and supple structure, and the elegance and admirable balance. The sustained finish and aftertaste echoed the fragrance first felt on the nose.

A supple, elegant red highlighted by bright cherry, black currant, violet, tobacco, iron and oak spice aromas and flavors. Though fluid and seemingly approachable now, this is well-structured and shows the balance to age. Fine length. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

A dense,brilliant red with a purple tint in color. A fresh and harmonious nose,rice in ripe berry and red fruit aromas especially blackcurrant and morello cherry. The palate is supple and fruity, on jammy fruit and the tannins are sillky and well-round. The slighty spicy finish expresses all the distinctive character of ripe merlot.

The 2013 Opus One offers splendid aromas of blueberry, cassis, and blackberries with highlights of rose, anise and baking spices. A creamy entry gives way to layers of complexity which unfold in the mid-palate with velvety tannins enrobing a center of concentrated black-fruit with juicy freshness. Elegantly balanced, the acidity and core structure deliver a persistent finish with hints of dark chocolate.

The 2013 Opus One promises enjoyment for decades to come.

The 2012 growing season was characterised by an abundance of sunny, dry weather; some rain did fall as well, but it occurred in just the right periods, before the harvest, and helped the vines to cope with the hot, dry conditions. The result was an even, consistent ripening process that in the end yielded generous, full-volumed wines that are remarkably appealing and seductive, with an overall character that we like to define with the word Incanto (‘Enchantment’). Ornellaia 2012 appears a deep ruby, and a remarkably beguiling bouquet boasts rich fruit and spices notes. The palate shows well rounded,full, and generous, with glossy tannins and a complete absence of any roughness. The 2012 lacks none of theproverbial concentration that distinguishes Ornellaia’s great vintages, but this vintage adroitly masks that richness behindan expansive, magisterial structure, then concludes with a near-endless finish.

Winemaker Marco Parusso was overwhelmed with emotion when he discovered an old document at his family’s estate in Barolo. Dated 1901, the crumbling contract, signed by his grandfather, Gaspare Parusso, was evidence of his purchase of a parcel of land called “Mariondino” – the small vineyard where he first planted Nebbiolo, and where the Parusso story begins. As a humble agrarian, Gaspare began selling his grapes to friends and local cooperatives and added a farmhouse …

The Amplus One is made up of 75% Carmenere, 20% Syrah, and 5% Carignan. It displays aromas of herbs, blueberry, and black plum. On the palate, it reveals elegance and good structure. A very tasty wine.

The 2013 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is garnet in color with a ruby red rim, it has an alluring nose of blackberry bramble, baking spices, and black olive. Aromas of vanilla, cassis, and sage fill the glass, revealing the influence of American oak barrel aging. On the palate, notes of raspberry are complemented with lingering acidity and a finish of dusty, silky tannins. Given proper cellaring, this wine will provide drinking pleasure through 2036.

True to previous vintages, Sirius 2018 is superbly coloured; a brooding crimson with dark purple tints heralds in the richness which awaits the taster. The expressive bouquet of black fruits, blackcurrant and black cherry, imparts astonishing complexity which evolves towards elegant toasty notes and vanilla aromas – the fruit of superb wine craftsmanship. On the palate, finely balanced tannins are wrapped in smooth, creamy extract, offering immediate pleasure and a succulence that goes on and on. A fresh, fruity back-of-palate signs off this great Bordeaux with a flourish.

A full-bodied wine of intense red fruit flavor and and elegantly supple texture supported by ripe, silky tannins. The Merlot in the blend is expressed in sweet black fruit with overall aromas of ripe, concentrated berries offset by restrained spicy oak notes.

Made with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, this smooth red opens with aromas of cassis, vanilla, violet and a whiff of bell pepper. Racy and delicious, the linear palate doles out juicy red currant, black cherry and vanilla set against lithe tannins. Bright acidity keeps it balanced and fresh.

Full of freshness and bright youthful fruits. Aromatic blackberries and raspberries with freshness and balance, the wine has around central core of red fruit that gives way to a complex mid-palate full of cassis, dark cherry, spice and vanilla.

A fruity nose combines notes of earth with those of various red berries and a floral top note. The supple, forward and generous middle weight flavors possess pretty good depth and reasonable length. Note that this could easily be enjoyed young.

Villa Antinori Classic, an intense ruby red color, features an equally intense nose of red fruit, raspberries and blueberries, followed by hints of oak and spices, particularly cloves, on the aromatic finish. Chardonnay is the third most widely planted grape in the world, and its cultivation is viewed as being the “rite of passage” for any emerging wine growing region.
Argentinian Chardonnay tends to be planted in cooler regions of the Andes, resulting in a more mineral-heavy, vegetative style of wine.
Chardonnay has its home in Burgundy, specifically in and around the town of Chablis, where it is almost exclusively planted. Despite its popularity in the region it is still muscled out by Pinot Noir.
Argentina is very fond of Chardonnay because it has adapted extremely well to the climate. After America’s exhausted love affair with butter-on-toast Chardonnay, Argentina has come to provide a very different style of the wine.
Argentinian Chardonnay should be considered closer to Burgundy than California when it comes to food pairing. Think lobster, salmon and scallops all the way.

Varyingly dark straw yellow with a copper rim. The nose has multilayered floral fragrances which evolve with age into a mature bouquet. Zesty on the palate with a good body which displays balance and authenticity.

A sublime, powerful white wine with brioche aromas and great richness with some exotic touches. The wine was fermented in barrels that once contained great Burgundy wines.

The result of a rather late harvest and therefore favourable to the aromatic expression of white wines, Poggio alle Gazze dell’Ornellaia has a bright straw yellow colour with green reflections. On the nose it releases intense notes of citrus and exotic fruit accompanied by scents of mowed grass and asparagus. On the palate it is full-bodied and vibrant, characterised by a vibrant acidity and a mineral and lingering finish.
